Mortal Gods: “HVT” – Starts Next Week

Mortal Gods: “HVT” is the next story coming from Liberate Liberty, with the plan being to publish it serially here at Liberate Liberty and also at Liberty Island Magazine. I have the first installment currently scheduled for early next week. Here is a tease of what the story is about.

The story takes place sometime after the events of the short story, “Like Hail and Fire, Mixed with Blood,” which is part of the Mortal Gods: Ignition book. The government has recruited Adam White to work in a brand new unit (that is not connected to any real-world DOD or intelligence community unit). The government doesn’t know much about him but even so, it knows it wants to take advantage of all his unique skills and abilities.

So what exactly does the government plan to do with Adam? Many things likely, with the first story showing one way—a unique way that addresses a real-world challenge by using the abilities that Adam has.

And this is going to be one of the fun things about, Mortal Gods: “HVT.” Mind you, the entire story is intended to be a fun read. But by taking a real-world challenge that currently has no solution, and offering Adam as the solution to that problem in the universe of Mortal Gods, I hope the reader also enjoys that part.

What is the real-world challenge and how does Adam become the solution to it? You’ll have to read the story as it unfolds to find out.

And maybe, once I fully publish the serial story, I’ll then discuss the issue further. (Although I really won’t have to do so since the story will pretty much show everything.)

Again, right now the schedule is to publish the first installment of Mortal Gods: “HVT” next week, and to keep serially publishing an installment on a weekly basis (here at Liberate Liberty and also at Liberty Island Magazine) until I fully publish the entire tale.

The Stought Brothers – Serialized Young Adult Series Coming Soon

Another story I am working on completing is the first story for a potential young adult series called, The Stought Brothers. I will publish the story in its entirety as a serialized story and for free at BarbWire.

I will judge how people respond to it and if it does well enough I may be able to proceed with the series, publishing the next book for sale as an eBook.

The logo you see to the right is the working logo for The Stought Brothers. If it proceeds as a series, then there probably would be an entirely new design along with cover art for the book.

Here is the general outline for The Stought Brothers.

Two brothers, 16- and 18-years old (a sophomore and a senior in high school), travel the world with their parents. Their father is a highly skilled doctor specializing in brain surgery, and he travels the world under the sponsorship of his church so he can provide life-saving operations across the globe. He takes his family with him wherever he travels. During their travels, the bro…

Mortal Gods: White Sands – Dark [ORIGINAL ART]

Here is an original piece of artwork I created in 2013. As you can see, it is a fuller version of the art I currently am using for the website title graphic. (Click on the image for an even larger size.)

I created it from two separate photographs (the background and the individual) that I took. Then I combined the photos in image-editing software, ran a filter over them, and added some effects.

This is artwork for the Mortal Gods universe I created but I have not yet used it for any specific story. I also do not have plans to use it for a particular story but that may change in the future. Nor have I given it a finished title. The title I used for the post was just thrown together based on a rough description of the image.

I am pleased with the final result and hope you enjoy it too.

Original Artwork for the Fiction of Liberate Liberty: What It Is and What It Can Be

Prose stories do not require artwork. However, prose stories struggle to find an audience without it. And what good is a story if no one is reading it? So here is the latest on the forthcoming artwork for the forthcoming tales from Liberate Liberty—here is what it will be as of now and here is what it can be if enough people support the stories.
I commissioned original artwork for both Mortal Gods: Ignition and Winning through Losing. The total of four separate commissions cost a significant amount of money. But it was worth it for those books. I’d like to commission more artwork for forthcoming stories (more of which I will post about this week—including how the first story will begin its serial publication this week or the next) but I need to make sure there is the demand for it.
So as of right now I’m creating the artwork for my latest work. I’m teasing excerpts of some of it above and in the images below. Some of what you see now might be different in its final form. And some of …
